Extraordinary Ministers of The Holy Eucharist
Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist were established in 1971 at the request of the American Bishops to allow lay persons to assist priests in giving Holy Communion.
Extraordinary Ministers assist ordained ministers in distributing Holy Communion at all Masses.
They are also used to insure that the sick and homebound receive Communion on a frequent basis.
Eucharistic Ministers are to be fully initiated Catholics, at least 16 years of age, who lead a life in harmony with the undertaking of this ministry including participating in the sacramental life of the Church.
Anybody desiring to participate in the ministry should contact Doris Sanders at 838-2133.
